Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or just starting out, this event offers something for everyone with no prior experience necessary.
Participants can choose from various distances ranging between 2 kilometers and 22 kilometers, catering to different fitness levels and preferences. The race features three time options: 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and 120 minutes, allowing runners and walkers alike the flexibility to decide on the day based on their comfort level.
The event kicks off from The Farmers Arms pub in Poynton, a welcoming venue known for its warm atmosphere and delicious food. On-site registration opens at 5 PM, with start times ranging from 5 PM until 7:30 PM, ensuring that early starters can enjoy some daylight while those who prefer the twilight hours have their opportunities as well.
Using the MapRun app on smartphones or wearable devices like Garmin watches and Apple Watches, participants will navigate through a colorful map to visit over 60 checkpoints scattered throughout Poynton. The terrain varies from flat areas in the east to hilly sections in the west, offering a mix of tarmac paths and off-road trails.
For those who might be out after sunset, high-visibility clothing and torches are recommended as darkness falls around 6:55 PM. Dogs are welcome but must remain on leashes for safety reasons.
