Spen 20 - 20 Mile Road Race

On March 21, 2027, Spenborough Athletics Club invites runners to take part in the SPEN 20 race at Princess Mary Athletics Stadium in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire. This challenging two-loop course covers a total distance of 20 miles and is recognized as an official North East England license event under UKA rules.
The scenic route winds through picturesque landscapes near junction 26 of the M62, offering runners stunning views throughout their journey. Participants will start promptly at 10:00 am from the stadium grounds, where ample parking and changing facilities are available for a comfortable pre-race experience. The race is not only open to all but also serves as the Yorkshire 20 Miles Championship, requiring competitors to be residents of North, South or West Yorkshire.
Competitors can look forward to refreshments and drinks along the way, with additional support provided by marshals who will ensure safety throughout the event. Prizes are awarded to the top seven men and women finishers, as well as veterans in various age categories. For those expecting a longer race time, organizers may accommodate an earlier start on request.
