South Downs 100 mile (Autumn Event)

The South Downs 100 Miles is an epic single-loop trail race through the picturesque South Downs National Park. The journey begins at Plumpton Racecourse, setting runners off on a challenging yet rewarding course that showcases the park's natural beauty and rugged terrain.
Covering over 12,000 feet of elevation gain across rolling hills, this grueling route offers breathtaking panoramic views throughout its entirety. Runners will encounter twelve aid stations strategically placed along the trail to provide essential support during their long-distance endeavor. With a generous cutoff time of 34 hours, participants have ample opportunity to take in the stunning scenery and push through any challenging moments.
The event also features free onsite camping over the weekend for those who wish to immerse themselves fully in the experience by staying close to the racecourse.
In addition to this flagship event, runners now have the option to challenge themselves with the South Downs Triple Crown. Starting in 2025, participants can choose from four different variations of completing three ultra-distance races within a calendar year. This new initiative aims to provide an even greater test for endurance athletes and further immerse them in the rich running culture of the South Downs.
