About the Event

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Surrey Hills National Landscape (AONB) with this unique mountain bike orienteering challenge, designed to cater to both experienced cyclists and newcomers alike. This final leg of the SLOW 2025/26 Series offers a captivating blend of wooded ridges and valleys, filled with an array of off-road trails that will keep your mind engaged as you navigate through nature.
Participants aged 12 and above can enjoy this event solo or team up in pairs or family groups. The adventure begins by receiving a detailed OS A3 waterproof map marked with various checkpoints to visit within the allotted time frame, which could be either two or three hours depending on your preference for leisurely exploration or competitive racing.
Equipped with the MapRun App available on both iPhone and Android devices, you'll have all the tools needed to plan out your route and track your progress. A link to download the course will be sent prior to the event, ensuring that everything is in place before you set off from the start line between 09:00am and 10:30am.
Upon completion of your self-guided journey through this picturesque terrain, return to the event base for refreshments while comparing notes with fellow riders about their route choices. For those new to orienteering or lacking a map board, basic equipment will be available at the venue to assist you in getting started.
This event is organized by SLOW MBO and regional clubs adhering strictly to BMBO rules and regulations. Though membership of SLOW MBO isn't mandatory, having a current 2026 BMBO membership is recommended for full participation benefits. The annual Day Rider membership through BMBO can be obtained free of charge.
