The Shere 42k, 21k & 10k Multi Terrain Event

Embark on an unforgettable trail running adventure at the Shere 42k, 21k, and 10k races, nestled within Surrey's picturesque hills—an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whether you're tackling the scenic 10k loop or pushing your limits with the challenging 21k half marathon, this event offers a variety of routes for all trail runners.
For those seeking a shorter yet stunning route, the 10k option winds through serene woodlands and undulating trails, offering a gentle ascent of 123 meters before returning to Shere. Participants will enjoy one drink station along the way.
The new addition in 2025 is the 21k half marathon, which shares its starting point with the full marathon but diverges into sections of the North Downs and Ranmore. With an elevation gain of 543 meters, this route provides breathtaking views and three strategically placed drink stations to keep you fueled.
The ultimate challenge awaits at the Shere 42k marathon, a rewarding trail that spans over 1,300 meters in elevation with stunning vistas from Leith Hill, Holmbury Hill, Pitch Hill, St Martha’s Hill, and Newlands Corner. Seven well-stocked drink stations are thoughtfully positioned to aid runners throughout their journey.
Upon crossing the finish line at the cricket pavilion, all participants will receive a medal and a complimentary buff. Additional spot prizes and awards for race winners add an extra layer of excitement. Before setting off on your adventure, enjoy morning coffee and pastries in the Pavilion. Post-race refreshments await to refuel you.
The event village features top brands like Instinct, La Sportiva, Topo, VJ Shoes, Mount to Coast Shoes, Ultimate Direction, and Knockaround Sunglasses, offering runners a chance to discover the latest gear and accessories.
Registration opens at 7:30 AM in the Pavilion located atop the Rec. The marathon kicks off at 9:00 AM, followed by the half marathon starting at 9:30 AM, with the 10k race beginning an hour later at 10:00 AM. Free parking is available for both runners and spectators.
Training runs are also organized every Sunday morning to help you prepare for your chosen distance. More details will be shared closer to the event date.
