Simonstown Orienteering

On November 14, 2026, runners will converge upon Simonstown for the SA Navy Parking Race, an exhilarating urban and natural terrain challenge that offers three distinct courses: long (4.2km), middle (3.4km), and short (2.5km). Participants can register at the SA Navy Parking lot on Cole Point Road starting from 14:45, with race starts ranging between 15:00 and 16:00.
The course weaves through steep urban areas before dipping into sections of fynbos, providing a unique blend of cityscape and natural beauty. The terrain is varied and challenging, making it ideal for runners looking to test their skills on both paved streets and rugged trails. Each participant will receive a detailed 1:4000 map with contour lines at five-meter intervals.
Registration fees vary based on membership status, ranging from R60 for junior members or scouts to R200 for non-member groups. Pre-entries are required and must be submitted by midnight on November 12th. The race day also includes a newcomers briefing at 15:00 to ensure all participants feel prepared and informed.
