Nestled within the charming grounds of Stover School in Newton Abbot, the Instep race series presents a captivating 10-mile course that weaves through both natural and cultivated landscapes. This multi-terrain route is designed to challenge runners with its off-road elements; approximately 90% of the track takes place on unpaved trails.
The journey begins at Stover School before venturing into the serene beauty of Stover Country Park, where lush greenery and tranquil waters provide a picturesque backdrop for your run. The course then continues through Teigngrace fields, offering runners an expansive view of rolling hills and open skies.
Participants must reach the halfway mark—5 miles—in under 70 minutes to remain in the race; those who do not will be asked to withdraw due to safety concerns. Transport back to Stover School is provided for any runner unable to continue.
In addition to the main event, a family-friendly 1-mile Fun Run takes place at 10:15am within the school grounds, perfect for younger participants or spectators looking to join in on the action. Entry fees are £3.50 if booked online and £5.00 when purchased on-site.
Race day starts promptly at 11:00am with a strict no-music policy enforced throughout the event; runners found wearing headphones will be disqualified for safety reasons. Race numbers must be collected from race headquarters upon arrival, and any number transfers should also take place there, subject to an administration fee of £3.
