Shetland AAC Club Championships 2026 - Sponsored by Jamieson's of Shetland

Shetland Amateur Athletics Club presents its 2026 Championships, proudly sponsored by Jamieson's of Shetland. Entries close at noon on Monday, September 7th, with an entry fee of £5 per athlete.
Athletes are invited to compete in up to three events according to the published schedule, avoiding any timetable clashes. Pre-registration is mandatory; no entries will be accepted on race day itself.
The competition adheres strictly to UK Athletics Rules of Competition:
- For U14 athletes: Participation in races exceeding 300m or 400m is prohibited, as well as multiple events between the distances of 600m and one mile. Additionally, no athlete under this age group can compete in the 3000m race, Hammer Throw, or Triple Jump.
- U16 competitors: Athletes must choose only a single event among the range from 300m to 1500m on any given day; they cannot enter both 400m and 1500m. The same restrictions apply for the 3000m race.
- U18 athletes: No track events longer than 5000m are permitted in this age category.
Competitors must declare their participation at least half an hour before their event, with all declarations closing by 1pm on the day of the competition. UK Athletics rules will govern throughout the event.
Field event trials vary based on athlete's age group: U14 athletes get three trial attempts; for U16s it is four attempts; and those aged U18+ receive six opportunities to showcase their skills in field events, excluding High Jump which follows a different protocol.
All participants must demonstrate proficiency in the chosen event categories with no coaching assistance available on site. Officials reserve the right to remove any athlete deemed unsafe or unqualified for participation.
