John O'Groats 10K

The John O' Groats 10K offers runners an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Scotland's far north. Starting at the newly renovated John O’Groats Mill, this race takes place on quiet country lanes that wind around historic landmarks and offer stunning views across to Stroma Island and the distant Orkney Islands.
Registration for participants begins at 11:30 AM in a retail unit near the main car park (KW14 4YR), with clear signage directing runners to a dedicated event parking area. The short walk from registration to the start line, just over half a mile away, is easy and well-marked.
The race itself covers undulating terrain along single-track roads that weave through picturesque countryside. As you run, keep an eye out for panoramic vistas and charming coastal scenery that make this course truly unique.
After crossing the finish line at the iconic John O'Groats signpost, runners can take advantage of nearby public restrooms before exploring more of what John O’ Groats has to offer. Whether it’s sampling local delicacies or visiting attractions like the Mill itself, there's plenty to enjoy both pre and post-race.
All proceeds from this event go towards supporting Thurso RNLI Station, with a minimum £5 donation included in each race fee. In addition to medals for all participants, top performers will receive trophies and spot prizes adding an extra layer of excitement to the day’s festivities.
