Join Saturn Running for the Save The Rhino Run, taking place at Durham Amateur Rowing Club on April 4th, 2027. This inclusive race aims to raise awareness and funds for rhino conservation efforts while offering runners a scenic trail run along the River Wear. The event features a flexible time challenge format with a minimum distance of 3km, allowing participants to choose their own pace and mileage up to 50 kilometers or beyond. The course offers stunning views of Durham Cathedral as it winds through beautiful riverfront paths for an engaging experience suitable for all abilities—runners and walkers alike. Participants who complete at least the minimum distance will receive a themed medal celebrating their achievement, while those tackling half-marathon distances or longer can earn additional pins to commemorate their efforts. The race also includes a goody bag filled with treats and vegan options available upon request during registration. Aid stations are conveniently located near the start/finish line throughout the day, providing runners with essential hydration and snacks including savory and sweet items along with vegan choices. Race HQ offers changing facilities and toilets for participants’ convenience. Registration fees include discounts for UK Athletics affiliated club members or Saturn Running Club members who can enjoy lower entry prices and guaranteed spots. Members also receive a mini-me medal pin at every event attended, adding an extra layer of incentive to join the community. Be sure to inform organizers if you are celebrating a milestone marathon such as your 50th, 99th, 100th, or beyond; they will provide personalized recognition for these special achievements. Participants should note that while bag drop facilities are available at the start/finish area, there is no staff supervision and items left unattended do so at participants' own risk. Join us on April 4th to support an important cause while enjoying one of Durham’s most picturesque running routes!
