Run Like a Haggis MapRun - Grasmere

Explore the scenic beauty around Grasmere on January 16, 2027, with this unique navigation score event. Participants can choose from three course options: one hour, two hours, or three hours. Each option allows you to navigate through a network of public footpaths and bridleways in the valley and fells surrounding the picturesque village.
Using an OS Explorer map and the MapRun app on your smartphone, visitors will aim to collect points by visiting as many checkpoints as possible within their chosen timeframe. The event is designed for all abilities; whether you're new to navigation or a seasoned pro, there's something here for everyone looking to enjoy Grasmere’s stunning landscapes.
Parking is available at the village hall and in Broadgate Meadow car park behind it (What3Words ///mothering.replayed.chats). Both locations require payment via RingGo app with proceeds going towards maintaining the facilities. Toilets are provided at registration, which takes place at Grasmere Village Hall from 10am.
The rolling start times range between 10am and noon, ensuring that participants have ample time to prepare before their adventure begins. The courses close at 2pm; those aiming for the three-hour option should begin by no later than 11am to ensure they make it through all checkpoints within the allotted time.
After your navigation challenge, enjoy a slice of cake along with hot or cold drinks as part of your entry fee. This event promises not only an engaging activity but also a delightful conclusion in Grasmere’s charming village atmosphere.
