One of the most popular races in Atlanta, Romp and Stomp 5k kicks off the Cabbagetown Chomp and Stomp Chili Cookoff and Bluegrass Festival. This race features a fast, flat course through historic Cabbagetown that is great for first timers or those chasing a PR. All participants receive an awesome T-shirt and a free chili tasting spoon for the Chomp and Stomp Chili and Bluegrass Festival later that day.
Interested in volunteering before, during, or after the race? Bonus: earn a free race entry, swag, and chili spoon. Sign up here!
PLEASE NOTE:
If you plan on running with strollers or dogs, or walking, please start behind the rest of the runners.
Dogs are not allowed to the Chomp and Stomp Festival per City of Atlanta Festival Ordinance.
Chomp & Stomp supports our park improvements for everyone to enjoy. Thank you for your help! Proceeds from our chili cook-off and the Romp 5k are used to create a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.
The mission of Cabbagetown Initiative 501c3 is: To Energize Public Spaces! Since 2003, we've raised funds to build playgrounds, pavilions, and picnic areas. Festival proceeds also maintain the Cabbagetown Community Center, Esther Peachy Park, our community garden, and the famous mural walk on Wylie Street - "Forward, Warrior!!"
We couldn't have built any of this without y'all! If you hear our neighbors cheering from the sidelines, it's because runners are some of our strongest supporters. The community appreciates your stamina and values your dedication. Keen folks are invited to learn more about our organization at cabbagetown.com, and enthusiastic Rompers are always welcome to make an additional donation to make a bigger impact in the places people gather freely for fun & fellowship.
Meeting spots, outdoor galleries, and wide-open greenspace! That's what we do, and all are welcome.
You can show the Cabbagetown Initiative some extra love by shopping our Vintage 5K Romp Collection!

Teams: Create a team with as many runners as you’d like and invite your fellow club members to join. Teams can be open to anyone or password-protected for your club members only.
Here’s how it works: your team’s three fastest runners will count toward your team score. The finishing times of those top three runners will be added together, and the three teams with the lowest combined times will take the top spots.
Lace up, rally your run club, and see who can claim bragging rights as the Romp & Stomp Run Club Champion!

Learn more about the host city, Atlanta.
Atlanta is the vanguard of the New South, with the charm and elegance of the Old. It's a city that balances southern traditions with sleek modernism, and southern hospitality with three skylines and the world’s busiest airport. It's a city that has been burnt to the ground and built back up; seen the horrors of war; felt the pain of droughts and floods; and given birth to Martin Luther King, Jr., the greatest figure of the civil rights movement. Atlanta is the capital of the state of Georgia.
