Our Fourth Annual Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K will be an opportunity for the community to come together to raise awareness in the fight against domestic violence in our community.  We invite you to support this cause by walking, jogging, running or being a sponsor today.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS

Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner.  Over their lifetime, 1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men experience severe physical violence by an intimate partner.  The Gwinnett County Solicitor General's Office wants to change those statistics by bringing awareness and education to the community regarding support and resources available to serve survivors and victims who may be experiencing domestic abuse.

Funds from the Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K will help support program services for Mosaic Georgia, Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), and Ahimsa House.  Mosaic Georgia is a non-profit organization that provides free, confidential support and services to victims and survivors of rape, sexual assault, and child sexual molestation and abuse.  PADV works to educate the public on the dynamics of doestice violence, promote healthy dating relationships among adolescents, teens and young adults and offer safety and shelter for abused adults and children.  Ahimsa House exists to address the link between animal cruelty and domestic violence.  Ahimsa House is the only organization dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence get their pets to safety too by housing via a network of foster homes and boarding facilities across the state of Georgia.

6:30 am - Registration and Packet Pick Up

7:15 am - Welcome: Solicitor Lisamarie N. Bristol

7:20 am - Mosaic Remarks: Lindsay W. Ferreira, Deputy Director

7:25 am - PADV Remarks: Katha Blackwell, Chief Executive Officer

7:30 am - Ahimsa House Remarks: One'(o-nay) Carrington, Community Services Advocate

7:35 am - Prerace Zumba warm up by UnTamed crew with Asia Ofei

8:00 am - Start

9:00 am - Postrace Cool Down/Stretch by HOF with Carlos Bingham

9:15 am - Awards ceremony (located at registration pavilion)

5K - 8:00am

5K Groups 5 or More - 8:00am

5K - $30.00 until 9/11/2026 @ 11:59pm then $35.00 to Race Day

RACE DAY REGISTRATION/PACKET PICKUP:

October 3rd at Alexander Park @ 6:30am.  Coming in from Scenic Hwy entrance, registration will be located at the first pavillion on the left.

COURSE:

Fairly flat course running through scenic Alexander Park on paths and roads.  Runs beside the lake and over the dam before finishing back below the pavillion where you checked in.  (Start and finish at the same location.) There is a restroom along the course. 

This course is a USATF certified course and an 2024 Official Peachtree Road Race Qualifying Event!

Age Group: 3 deep Male/Female 10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 and Up

TSHIRTS:

All participants are guarenteed a race tshirt if registered by September 21st.
