Rhino Run- Runnymede

Join the Rhino Run, an inspiring event that celebrates awareness for rhino conservation and supports Chris Green's efforts as "Rhino Boy Chris" to raise funds for this vital cause. On January 3, 2027, runners of all abilities will gather at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds near the River Thames in a spirit of community and environmental commitment.
Registration opens at 7:00 am with the race starting promptly at 7:30 am. Participants who begin before dawn are encouraged to bring head torches for safe navigation along the course. The route itself is an out-and-back path spanning approximately 3.28 miles, offering runners a choice of distances from a traditional 5k up to ultra marathon lengths within a six-hour window.
The event provides ample opportunities for personal challenge and camaraderie. Whether you're aiming for a quick 5k or pushing yourself through multiple loops over the course of several hours, there's something for every runner. Each lap will be marked with an aid station offering water, squash, fizzy drinks, and various snacks to keep energy levels up.
Participants can expect bespoke medals upon completion as well as goody bags filled with exclusive items commemorating their participation in this unique event. While the race venue offers on-site parking at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds (with a fee), there will be no official bag drop area—runners should leave personal belongings near the start/finish line at their own risk.
Toilets and changing facilities are available at the nearby rowing club, ensuring participants have everything they need for comfort during the race. As you run along the picturesque River Thames path, remember to respect other users of this public space by being considerate and courteous throughout your journey.
