Phoenix - Hampshire - Christmas Party Run

Celebrate the festive season at Phoenix Running Hampshire’s 'Christmas Party Run' along the picturesque Itchen Way in Winchester. This professionally measured and permitted course offers runners of all abilities an opportunity to enjoy a smooth, mud-free route as they choose their distance from 2.62 miles out-and-back up to an ultra-distance challenge within a generous seven-hour window.
The event kicks off at 08:00, but participants are free to start anytime until 13:00, allowing flexibility for those who want to ease into the run or tackle longer distances with less pressure. Runners can opt for five laps to complete a half marathon, ten laps for a full marathon distance, and eleven laps or more to take on an ultra-distance challenge.
The route winds along the Itchen Way, crossing over the iconic Hockley Viaduct before returning back to the starting point. This scenic course offers runners beautiful views of Winchester’s countryside while providing ample opportunities to enjoy the festive spirit with fellow participants.
A highlight of the event is the aid station, which is renowned for its variety of sweet and savoury treats, including signature potatoes, as well as vegan options to cater to all dietary preferences. Participants can fuel up at this spot throughout their run without worrying about hunger or thirst.
The race takes place near Garnier Road Car Park, with parking available just a short walk away at St. Catherine's Park & Ride (SO23 9NP). Parking charges apply on Saturdays (£3.50 for the day or £1.80 up to three hours) and are free on Sundays.
