Brutal @ Spider Hill

Spider Hill at Long Valley offers runners an unforgettable 10K challenge that tests both endurance and resilience. The course winds through Alligator Swamp, where the terrain is soft and slippery underfoot, followed by a serene yet treacherous passage around Swan Lake. As you push forward, the Muddy Mile awaits, turning your legs into mud-caked sculptures as you slog through deep puddles and slick clay. Completing this leg of the journey brings runners to Duck Pond, where water splashes up from every step in the final stretch.
This race is renowned for its wet conditions, making it a standout among the Brutal series races. The unique blend of swampy terrain, muddy paths, and unpredictable weather creates an atmosphere that challenges even the most experienced athletes. For those who love pushing their limits on challenging courses with distinctive features, Spider Hill at Long Valley promises to be both exhilarating and exhausting.
Runners should prepare for a day filled with mud, water crossings, and scenic yet demanding landscapes. The event is particularly beloved by regular participants of the Brutal series, known as "Brutaleers," who return year after year to tackle this wettest and most rugged course in the lineup.
