Peak District Challenge

The Peak District Challenge, organized by Wilderness Development, invites outdoor enthusiasts for an exhilarating trekking adventure across five distinct routes. Since its inception in 2013, this annual event has become a beloved tradition among hill walkers and runners seeking to test their limits against the rugged beauty of the Peak District.
Participants can choose from five levels of difficulty: Copper (25km), Bronze (50km), Silver (75km), Gold (100km), or the ultimate endurance feat, 100 miles in 24 hours. Each route offers a unique blend of stunning scenery and varied terrain that challenges both physical stamina and mental fortitude.
The Copper Challenge begins at 9:30 AM on Saturday with an expected completion time by 6:30 PM. The Bronze Challenge starts around the same hour, aiming for a finish line target of 8:30 PM after twelve hours of trekking through breathtaking landscapes. For those seeking longer distances and deeper immersion in nature, the Silver (75km), Gold (100km) and 24-hour 100-mile routes all kick off at 9:00 PM on Friday evening, concluding their arduous journey by Saturday night.
Entry fees are kept low to encourage participation without any fundraising obligations. Solo or duo competitors must either demonstrate navigation experience or complete a pre-event training course provided by Wilderness Development.
The event culminates in Hathersage where finishers can celebrate their achievements and reflect on the unforgettable journey through one of England's most iconic natural landscapes.
