On November 28, 2026, runners will gather at Modekou Park in Shijingshan District, Beijing for the Dragon Spine Terraced Fields Mountain Race Training Event. This race offers two distinct categories: a competitive 25KM group and an experience-focused 5KM option.
The 25KM route begins with a challenging climb through scenic landscapes around Modekou Park, taking runners past Tiger Head Hill, Cuiwei Peak, Tea Hut, Nanmachang Village, Tanyu Valley, Tian Dashan Mountain, and back to the park. With over 1181 meters of elevation gain, this course tests endurance as it winds its way through lush terrains and historic sites.
For those seeking a shorter adventure, the 5KM experience group offers an introduction to the area's natural beauty with a climb from Modekou Park up to Fahai Temple before returning. This route includes just over 200 meters of elevation gain, providing runners with stunning views without the full day commitment required by the longer distance.
Both races begin at 9:00 AM and offer ample time for participants to enjoy the unique setting and challenging terrain, making this event a must-attend for mountain running enthusiasts.
