Otterton Reindeer Run

Get ready to jingle and jog through the Otterton Reindeer Run, returning this year on Saturday, December 5th, 2026. Dust off your antlers and Christmas jumpers as you lace up for a festive cross-country race that weaves its way through the picturesque Otter Valley.
This year's event offers two distances to suit all runners:
- The 3km Festive Fun Run is perfect for families, younger participants, or anyone looking for an enjoyable dash through the countryside.

- For those seeking a challenge, there’s the new and improved 10.3km Multi-Terrain Race, which includes off-road sections along quiet country lanes and parts of the South West Coast Path.
The 10km route promises to be both scenic and muddy, with plenty of opportunities for runners to enjoy the natural beauty while navigating varied terrain. Participants should come prepared for December conditions, including potential mud on the trails.
Race HQ is located at St Michael's Church in Otterton, where registration will take place from 8:30am until 9:45am. Make sure you arrive early and collect your race number before heading out to start times of 10:00am for the main event and 10:15am for the fun run.
The spirit of the Reindeer Run lies in its festive atmosphere, so fancy dress is highly encouraged! Prizes will be awarded for the best adult and junior costumes. Whether you go all out as a reindeer or opt for something equally whimsical, there's no shortage of creativity to admire along the route.
After crossing the finish line at St Michael’s Church, head over to Otterton Village Hall just minutes away for refreshments and prize-giving ceremonies. Warm up with complimentary tea, coffee (or mulled wine for adults), squash for juniors, and a mince pie for everyone. Additional treats like bacon rolls will be available for purchase.
Safety is paramount at the Reindeer Run; medical staff will be on standby to assist anyone who needs it along the way or near finish lines. Friendly marshals will guide you through the course, pointing out water stations as needed.
Please note that there's no parking directly at Race HQ but limited street parking around Otterton Village is available. Remember not to park in Otterton Mill car park under any circumstances.
The Reindeer Run operates under Association of Running Clubs (ARC) rules and entrants must be amateurs. Online registration implies acceptance of these guidelines, including the understanding that participants compete entirely at their own risk. The event’s minimum age requirement for the 10km race is sixteen years old.
