NSCCL round 2 - Stafford Common

The North Staffs Cross Country League (NSCCL) offers runners of all ages and skill levels the chance to compete on traditional cross country courses across North Staffordshire and South Cheshire. This league features four races throughout the season, where participants can earn points for both individual achievements and team standings.
For those who are not affiliated with a club but wish to take part in this event, there is an option to register as a guest runner. Guests will be included in the individual race results but won't contribute to their Club's team score or overall league standing.
Teams within the NSCCL vary by age and gender:
- Under 17s teams consist of three male and three female runners.
- Senior Division 1 includes six males and four females, while Senior Division 2 has equal numbers with four men and women each.
- Veteran categories (Over-35 and Over-50) also have specific team compositions.
Scores from all races are counted towards individual standings for those aged 17 or older. For younger competitors under the age of 17, only their best three out of four race performances will be considered in determining their final ranking.
The league's senior divisions feature a competitive structure where teams at the bottom of Division 1 face relegation to Division 2, while top-tier teams from Division 2 have the opportunity for promotion. This system ensures that both divisions remain challenging and engaging throughout the season.
Participants should note that only first-claim members are eligible to compete, and club runners must wear their team's designated colors during races.
The NSCCL R2 race in Stafford is one of the highlights of the league’s calendar. Seniors can look forward to an 8000-meter course for men and a 5000-meter route for women. Meanwhile, younger athletes aged between nine and sixteen have their own dedicated event with distances ranging from 2000 meters up to 4500 meters depending on age group.
