Norwell Turkey Trot & Kids Turkey Chase

The Norwell High School Turkey Trot is an annual community race that invites runners of all ages to enjoy the crisp fall air and scenic routes around Norwell. Scheduled for November 22, 2026, this flat course 5K event starts and finishes at Norwell High School, offering a straightforward yet enjoyable run through local neighborhoods.
Participants can look forward to a well-marked route that begins with a right turn onto South Street from the high school grounds. The path then takes runners left onto Pleasant Street before looping back via EA Joseph Road to return to their starting point. This course is designed for both competitive athletes and casual joggers, ensuring an accessible race day experience.
Online registration remains open until November 19th at midnight, with pricing tiers that offer discounts the earlier you sign up: $30 by October 15th, $35 by November 1st, $40 by November 15th, and Race Day Registration is available for $45. All proceeds from this event are dedicated to supporting Norwell Middle School's initiatives in providing grants to teachers and enhancing student services.
For the younger participants, a Kids Turkey Chase offers an exciting opportunity for children aged ten and under to participate separately with their own unique route near LOT B/ The Tennis Court Parking Lot. Registration fees vary between $5 online and $10 on race day, though T-shirts can be pre-ordered until October 25th at $10 each.
In addition to the run itself, this event encourages community engagement through various activities such as a John Hughan Kindness Contest where volunteers will recognize acts of kindness among participants. Winners receive custom-made Kindness Hoodies and there are also spirit prizes for top costumes in both an '80s theme category and a Thanksgiving/Turkey costume contest.
The day concludes with post-race festivities, providing runners with opportunities to socialize while enjoying the autumn setting. Parking is available at Norwell High School's Lot C or as directed by race volunteers on race day.
