About the event
Join us as the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity’s Boston Chapter hosts the ninth annual Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K run/walk along the Charles River in Boston in remembrance of our brother and friend Ryan Scott Shaw. Ryan passed away at the age of 18 on May 9th, 2016 shortly after being diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. The Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K run/walk aims to preserve Ryan's legacy through this memorial event.

Initially Brighton was part of Watertown, and was later part of Cambridge, and known as "Little Cambridge". Brighton separated from Cambridge in 1807 after a bridge dispute, and was annexed to Boston in 1874.
