Mustang Trail Race

The Mustang Trail Race is an eight-stage adventure through Nepal's culturally rich Tibetan region of Upper Mustang. Spanning 170 kilometers over the course of 12 days, this race offers runners not only challenging terrain but also ample opportunities to immerse themselves in local culture and stunning landscapes.
Each stage presents a unique blend of running on ancient trading routes that wind through rugged mountain passes and remote villages, with altitudes ranging from 2,900 meters to an impressive 4,300 meters. The race is designed as a supported event, meaning runners carry only their essential gear while the rest is transported for them by the organizers.
Participants sleep in cozy tea-houses each night, where they are treated to comfortable accommodations and hearty meals prepared with local ingredients. This allows racers to refuel on traditional Nepalese cuisine and enjoy downtime exploring caves, monasteries, temples, and small villages along the route.
The race includes one hiking day for acclimatization and cultural immersion, as well as two travel days in Kathmandu where participants receive a comprehensive briefing before heading into Mustang. The friendly atmosphere is enhanced by a group of up to 30 runners who form close bonds over shared experiences and challenges during this epic journey.
The race's unique environment offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna Massif, with peaks towering above at an awe-inspiring height of 8,000 meters. This setting provides not only physical tests but also a profound sense of adventure and cultural discovery.
