HimalayanXtri Xtreme Triathlon

HimalayanXtri stands as an unparalleled point-to-point triathlon, setting records for its breathtaking elevation and unique landscape. Nestled amidst the towering Annapurna mountain range, this race begins with a refreshing 3.4km swim at a sub-tropical lake that sits at 800 meters above sea level, where temperatures hover between 17-22 degrees Celsius. The crystal-clear waters reflect the majestic peaks of an 8,000-meter high Himalayan range, offering swimmers a mesmerizing backdrop.
The bike leg challenges participants with a grueling 165km course that winds through the rugged terrain of the Himalayas, accumulating over 3,800 meters in elevation gain. Cyclists reach their highest point at an impressive 1,740 meters above sea level before descending to continue the journey.
The trail run is where this triathlon truly shines, taking runners on a path that ascends through dense forests and clouds until they stand face-to-face with Mt Fishtail and the Annapurna peaks at 4,000 meters. The descent back down to Lwang village, nestled in lush greenery at 1,400 meters above sea level, is equally awe-inspiring.
Competitors can opt for local support personnel or bike rentals through race organizers who also assist with car hire and transport arrangements. Additionally, the event offers opportunities to explore Nepal further by providing assistance for tours and trekking adventures beyond the competition.
As an XTRI World Tour Partner Race, HimalayanXtri awards four slots—two each for men and women—to NORSEMAN and the XTRI World Championship based on race performance. Every finisher earns 200 X-Points, which can be used to secure spots in prestigious events like NORSEMAN, Swissman, Celtman, and ICON.
