Venturing into the heart of Brittany, the Mewen Triathlon Aventure is set to make its debut as a unique adventure race on September 27, 2026. This inaugural edition invites teams of two to explore the lush landscapes and verdant paths around Loscouët-sur-Meu.
The event promises an engaging mix of strategy and athleticism with various challenges designed for both seasoned adventurers and newcomers alike. Participants will navigate through a VTT Road Book (orientation) challenge, where they must use their map-reading skills to find hidden checkpoints scattered across the terrain. Additionally, there's a course d'orientation that combines traditional orienteering techniques with digital elements like electronic tracking devices.
The run and bike segment is another highlight of this event, inviting teams to pedal through scenic routes before transitioning into an exhilarating running leg that showcases the natural beauty of Loscouët-sur-Meu. The exact distances for each section will be revealed closer to race day but expect a total combined distance of approximately 50 kilometers.
Organizers have hinted at additional activities and surprises designed to enhance both competitiveness and camaraderie among participants, ensuring there's more than just physical challenge on offer here.
Registration is limited to only 100 teams, making this event an exclusive opportunity for those looking to test their skills in a unique setting. Each team member must be prepared with the necessary paperwork including parental consent forms if applicable, and non-licensed athletes will need to secure individual experience licenses as well as complete health information questionnaires.
The day begins early at 9:15 AM with a briefing session where teams can ask questions and receive final instructions before heading out on their adventure. The race kicks off promptly at 9:30 AM, allowing teams five hours to complete the course.
