TRAIL ENTRE MENHIRS ET CHAOS

The AS22 Athlé Cross de Merdrignac returns with its inaugural trail running event, "Entre Menhirs et Chaos," on October 3, 2026. Located in the heart of Brittany, this enchanting race invites runners to explore Gomené's mystical landscapes under the setting sun.
The course offers two distinct challenges: a 7km route (250 meters of elevation gain) and a more demanding 15km journey (450 meters of ascent). Participants should don their best running shoes, as over 90% of the terrain is on forest trails and rugged paths. Prepare for a unique experience as you traverse undulating paths through dense forests, between ancient menhirs, and into mysterious chaos formations. The nightfall brings an added layer of beauty, with the local heritage illuminated by your headlamp.
This event not only promises thrilling competition but also celebrates the rich history and natural beauty of Gomené. Highlights include a visit to historic landmarks such as manors and ponds, all set against the backdrop of Brittany’s rugged charm.
The race begins at 5:00 PM with a shorter Rando Octobre Rose for families followed by trail events starting from 6:00 PM. Children aged CP (kindergarten) through third grade can participate in age-appropriate races between 6:00 and 6:40 PM, while adults will tackle the longer trails at 7:00 PM.
Gomené's convenient location makes it accessible to runners from nearby cities like St Méen le Grand, Loudéac, Ploërmel, Lamballe, St Brieuc, Dinan, and Rennes. The race venue, the Presbytère de Gomené, offers a warm welcome for all participants.
