Brisco Gorseinon 10K & Family Fun Run
Join us on Sunday, April 4th, 2027, for the highly anticipated return of the Brisco Gorseinon 10K and its accompanying 2K Family Fun Run. Organized by Morgan's Army Charitable Foundation, this event is a beloved community race that combines athletic challenge with philanthropic purpose.
The 10K route promises to be both scenic and competitive as it winds through the streets of Gorseinon on fully closed roads, allowing runners to enjoy an unimpeded journey. The course takes participants along picturesque stretches including Gorseinon High Street, a scenic cycle path, Pontarddulais, and Grovesend. With experienced pacers leading the way, this race offers both seasoned athletes aiming for personal bests and newcomers looking to conquer their first 10K an equally rewarding experience.
The event kicks off at Penyrheol Leisure Centre with the main race beginning promptly at 9:00am. Participants can collect their race packs either on Saturday, April 3rd (details TBA) or early on Sunday morning from 7:30 to 8:35 AM at the leisure center.
Supporting local causes is a cornerstone of this event. Half of all funds raised go directly to Morgan's Army Charitable Foundation, which provides vital support for families affected by childhood cancer in South Wales. The remaining half is donated to a community cause selected through public vote, ensuring that every runner contributes positively to their community.
The 2K Family Fun Run offers an inclusive opportunity for runners of all ages and abilities to join the festivities. This year’s run will be officially timed, adding another layer of excitement for participants young and old.
Race day amenities include water stations strategically placed along the route—specifically at around the 5km mark—and refreshments upon finishing. Each participant receives a finisher's medal and additional goodies as tokens of appreciation for their efforts.
As part of our commitment to safety, road closures will remain in place until every runner has completed the course, ensuring that everyone can focus on running without worry.
