Moonriver Night Race

Dive into an exhilarating night-time fell race set against the backdrop of Dovedale Valley's stunning natural beauty. This challenging 9.5km course with approximately 345 meters of elevation gain offers a diverse terrain, featuring open fields, rugged riverside trails, steep woodland climbs, and undulating footpaths that will test your endurance in low light conditions.
Registration takes place at The Old Dog pub starting from 17:00 until 18:30. Parking is available nearby at the pub’s lot as well as at Narlows Lane and Thorpe station car parks (free after 6pm) or the Peveril of the Peak hotel, all located in DE6 2AT/DE6 2AW.
For safety reasons, participants are required to bring full Fell Runners Association (FRA) kit including a headtorch with an extra one recommended as backup. Mobile phones should also be carried for emergency situations. The race is governed by FRA rules and regulations; GPS navigation or poles are strictly prohibited, and running with dogs is not allowed.
Competitors can look forward to individual and team prizes sponsored by the Inov-8 Bakewell Store and Voom Nutrition. With a maximum capacity of 250 runners, this event promises an intimate yet competitive atmosphere for all participants who must be at least 18 years old.
The current course records stand impressively: Finlay Grant holds the male record with a time of 40 minutes and 8 seconds set in 2025, while Sara Willhoit (Mercia Fell Runners) claims the female title with her exceptional performance of 45 minutes and 37 seconds from the same year.
