Mendocino Running Festival

About the Event

Welcome to the Mendocino Running Festival, an unforgettable trail running experience nestled in the serene Ancient Redwood Forest of Mendocino Woodlands Park, just off the Mendocino Coast. This National Historic Landmark offers breathtaking views and a unique setting for runners from all over the world.
The festival spans an entire weekend, featuring a looped course that runs through stunning ancient redwoods, across log bridge crossings, and alongside murmuring streams. The 6-mile loop includes 875 feet of elevation gain and is mostly single-track trail, providing both challenge and beauty for runners to enjoy at their own pace.
Participants can choose from two timed formats: a 6-hour or 12-hour event, as well as distance options including the half-marathon (13.1 miles) and 10k race. Each course is designed with runner-friendly cutoff times that allow you to soak in the forest's beauty while pushing your limits.
The festival offers more than just racing; it’s a complete weekend experience filled with live music, yoga sessions led by Earl, physiotherapy from MOWBS Physiotherapy for VIP runners, and an exclusive VIP lounge. Skratch Labs provides sports nutrition at aid stations throughout the event, ensuring you stay fueled during your run.
Camping accommodations are available in three styles: tent cabins (21 units), camper/tow-behind spaces with limited availability, or traditional camping spots near a small creek within the campgrounds. Each option includes access to hot showers and wash houses, as well as complimentary yoga sessions throughout the weekend.
The food at Mendocino Running Festival is thoughtfully crafted using fresh local ingredients, offering vegan options alongside vegetarian and protein-rich dishes. Weekend Food Passes are available for purchase separately if you're camping or bringing non-running family members.
Join us in Mendocino Woodlands Park to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with nature and fellow runners. The festival promises an incredible weekend of trail running, scenic beauty, live music, yoga sessions, physiotherapy treatments, and a vibrant community atmosphere. Don't miss this opportunity to experience one of California's most unique outdoor events!

Scenic view of

Mendocino is an unincorporated community in Mendocino County, California, United States. The name comes from Cape Mendocino, located 85 miles (137 km) to the north and named by early Spanish navigators in honor of Antonio de Mendoza, Viceroy of New Spain. Despite its small size, the town's scenic location on a headland surrounded by the Pacific Ocean has made it extremely popular as an artists' colony and with vacationers.
