Marathon de Sardaigne

In the heart of Sardinia's Valle dei Nuraghi lies an ancient giant that has stood watch for 3,500 years: the towering Nuraghe Santu Antine. Nicknamed "Sa domo de su re" or "the king’s house," this historic site sets the stage for a unique marathon experience in Torralba, province of Sassari.
The race begins on April 11th when spring's warmth bathes Sardinia and its runners. The route is designed to showcase both the island's natural beauty and rich history. It starts with fast, flowing stretches across the Cabu Abbas plain, perfect for those who enjoy steady pacing over long distances. As you move through this serene landscape, dry-stone walls and ancient olive trees of Meilogu come into view, adding a touch of rustic charm.
The course then introduces some challenging terrain, with several uphill sections that will test your endurance but also offer breathtaking views of the surrounding nuraghes—ancient stone towers scattered across Sardinia. These structures serve as landmarks along the route, guiding runners through millennia of history. The race's highlight is undoubtedly its finish line at Santu Antine itself, where you'll feel a profound connection to this ancient site.
After crossing the finish line, participants are treated to some of Sardinia’s finest culinary delights: crispy pane carasau bread, tender porceddu (roast suckling pig), and seadas drizzled with honey. A glass of Cannonau wine awaits to toast your achievement. The weekend continues with visits to historical sites such as the necropolis of Sant'Andrea Priu, exploring the narrow streets of Sassari, or relaxing on Alghero's beautiful beaches.
