L'HIVERNALE DE LA GRANDE CHAMPAGNE 2027

Immerse yourself in the mystical and challenging terrain of L'Hivernale de La Grande Champagne, set to take place on January 23, 2027. The race offers three distinct trails: a daunting 32 km Darkstar route with an elevation gain of 900 meters, a more intense yet equally dark 20 km option known as the Darkside featuring 450 meters of ascent, and for those seeking a lighter but still adventurous experience, there's the Nuit Noire at 12 kilometers with 200 meters of climbing. All routes start and finish by moonlight at Château de Lignières-Sonneville.
The trails are marked and lit, guiding runners through dense woods, over rugged terrain filled with roots and sharp turns in a nocturnal setting that challenges even the most seasoned night runners. The Darkstar route is particularly notorious for its pitch-black paths, demanding both physical endurance and mental fortitude as participants navigate their way under starlight or by the glow of headlamps.
The atmosphere at Château de Lignières-Sonneville is electric with a blend of excitement and anticipation among racers. As runners gather before the start, the air fills with the scent of woodsmoke from warming fires and the sounds of music setting the mood for an unforgettable night race experience.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants are greeted by warmth in more ways than one – both literally through hot refreshments served at the end and figuratively as a sense of camaraderie amongst fellow trail runners who have shared this unique adventure.
