Race for Breast Cancer Research
On October 4, 2026, runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in the Race for Breast Cancer Research. This annual event offers multiple distances to accommodate various levels of fitness and age groups.
The centerpiece is a challenging 10 km run, starting at 10:30 AM from Bourg-Achard's central square. The race route winds through scenic local landscapes, offering participants an engaging mix of terrain that includes both flat sections and some gentle inclines. Open to runners aged cadet (born in or before 2011) and above, the entry fee is €10.
For those looking for a shorter but equally rewarding experience, there's also a 5 km run starting at 10:15 AM. This race caters primarily to younger competitors who are minimes (born in or before 2013), with an entry cost of €8 per participant.
A special event designed specifically for the youngest athletes is the 1 km fun run, which kicks off early at 9:40 AM, welcoming children born between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2019. This race features a flat course that's perfect for introducing young runners to competition in a supportive environment.
For those preferring a more leisurely pace, the 5 km walk begins at 10:30 AM alongside the run, providing an opportunity for all participants, regardless of age or experience level, to contribute to the cause while enjoying the community atmosphere. The entry fee is €8 per walker.
All events are open to both male and female competitors across various categories, ensuring inclusivity in this meaningful event. Participants can register online with secure payment up until October 2, 2026 at 18:00 (6 PM).
Entry requirements include a valid FFA competition, leisure-running option or enterprise license for those aged cadet and above. For individuals without these credentials, the Prevention Health Pathway (PPS) is an acceptable alternative.
Race day registration will not be available for the 5 km and 10 km events; therefore, it's essential to complete your entry beforehand through online channels. The race caps at a total of 1000 participants across both distances, with each event limited to 500 runners.
Dossiers and goodies can be picked up on Saturday, October 3rd from 9 AM to 12 PM and again from 2 PM to 6 PM at Carrefour Market in Bourg-Achard. Alternatively, they will also be available for collection on race day morning.
