Lejre Nytårsløb 2026

Welcome to the 5th edition of Lejre New Year's Run, an inclusive and festive event for all ages! This year’s race promises to be bigger than ever with up to 600 participants expected. Organized by Therese Vilrik from Svedkonceptet and Jacob Nørgaard, the IRONMAN Denmark organizer, this run is a celebration of community spirit in Lejre.
The event features several categories for everyone: children can enjoy shorter distances such as the 350m or 650m runs designed specifically for kids aged from 0 to 7 years. For adults and older children, there’s an exciting new addition – a one-mile distance option that accommodates runners of all abilities transitioning into longer races.
The main event kicks off with timed starts at 10:30 AM for the 5km run and walk as well as the 10km race. Participants can look forward to professional chip timing, ensuring accurate results for everyone who crosses the finish line.
Onsite activities include a warm-up session before each category’s start time and medal presentations for all runners upon completion of their respective races. The post-race celebration offers traditional Danish treats like kranskage (Danish wreath cake) and apple juice from Æbleland, catering to both adults and children alike.
Registration closes on December 18th to ensure proper preparation and distribution of medals and start numbers. Be sure to arrive early for number pick-up between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM at the designated venue near Domus Felix. Parking is limited, so plan your arrival accordingly or seek alternative parking options.
Join the vibrant community of Lejre as they come together on December 31st for a memorable New Year’s celebration run!
