On July 24, 2027, runners will gather at Granary Wharf in Leeds City Centre to embark on an unforgettable journey along the tranquil Leeds–Liverpool Canal. This scenic out-and-back route offers a peaceful and traffic-free environment ideal for all levels of runners. The flat terrain is perfect whether you're new to running or looking to set a personal best, with the canal towpath providing stunning views throughout your run. Aid stations are strategically placed every three miles along the course, ensuring that participants receive ample support and hydration as they make their way through Kirkstall and beyond. Registration will take place at Granary Wharf starting from 7:15 am, where runners can collect their race bibs near toilet facilities before setting off. Parking is limited in the immediate area, so car sharing or using public transport such as Leeds Station (just behind the start line) is highly recommended. Participants have a choice of distances including the 5K at 8:45 am, 10K and Half Marathon both starting at 9:00 am, a 10 Miler beginning at 8:30 am, a challenging 20 Miler also set for 8:30 am (consisting of two laps), and an Ultra Marathon kicking off at 8:15 am. Each race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and follows strict UKA rules. Runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottles or cups as part of a commitment to environmental sustainability, with feed stations offering water and snacks every three miles. Large over-ear headphones are not permitted for safety reasons, but bone conduction headphones or single-ear use is acceptable.
