L'Ecir Hivernal

Winter descends on the Massif Cantalien, and Murat transforms into an enchanting backdrop for L’écir Hivernal, set to take place on December 5, 2026. This semi-nocturnal trail race invites runners to explore its stunning 20-kilometer course under moonlit skies. The route winds through the mountainous terrain of Chavagnac and beyond, offering breathtaking views of snow-dusted peaks and crisp alpine air.
Participants can choose between solo or relay formats for a unique challenge with teammates switching off at designated checkpoints in Chavagnac. After crossing the finish line, runners are invited to refuel with hearty local fare: homemade soup, saucisse-truffade, and cornet de Murat — all part of an affordable buffet priced at just 10 euros.
