Since its inception in 2022, the Lake International Half Marathon (LIHM) has rapidly grown from hosting just over 2,200 runners to attracting an impressive 6,850 participants and receiving more than 55,000 online applications by 2025. This surge in popularity led organizers to cap participation at 7,000 for the upcoming LIHM26 event.
What sets LIHM apart is its unique indoor start and finish line setup, offering runners international-standard facilities that are fully air-conditioned—a rarity among road races. The race course then takes participants through a stunning landscape of rolling paddy fields and breathtaking mountain vistas at sunrise, making it one of Malaysia's most scenic routes for competitive running.
For 2026, LIHM will exclusively feature the Half Marathon category, cementing its reputation as a high-performance event that attracts serious competitors. The race organizers have ambitious plans to earn an Elite Race Label by Vision 2027, positioning LIHM among Southeast Asia's premier road races and solidifying its status as Malaysia’s top half marathon destination.
LIHM promises runners not only a challenging course but also a premium racing experience from start to finish. The combination of indoor facilities with the natural beauty of rural Malaysia creates an unforgettable setting for athletes seeking both competitive excellence and scenic enjoyment.
