Set against the backdrop of La Couronne, this exciting night race offers runners two distinct distances to choose from: an 8.5 km course and a more challenging 14 km route. Both races are scheduled for January 9, 2027, with start times at 6:30 PM for the longer distance and 6:45 PM for the shorter one. The event aims to accommodate up to 400 runners; once this limit is reached, a waiting list will be established to fill any last-minute cancellations. Participants must be at least 16 years old and can register online until January 8th by 6:00 PM local time for a fee of €9. Safety and visibility are paramount during the night race. All runners are required to wear reflective clothing, including bandanas or vests with high-visibility strips, and carry either a headlamp or chest-mounted light. Additionally, participants must bring their own water supply as there will be no hydration stations along the course. A soft flask or reusable bottle should also be carried for post-race refreshments at the finish line. In-person bib collection is available on two days: Friday, January 8th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stadium Sports Shop in La Couronne and Saturday, January 9th between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM at Super U Châteauneuf sur Chte. Alternatively, bibs can be picked up from the communal space near Stade-Naud Rivière on race day from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. For registration validation, participants must present either a current FFA competition license or Athlé Running license along with their PPS (Parcours Prévention Santé) card. Minors running in the event need parental authorization and completed health questionnaires on file as well. No bib exchanges are permitted without prior notification to race organizers and submission of medical documentation for all participants involved. All runners must wear their officially provided number throughout the entire competition period, adhering strictly to FFA timing regulations since this is a timed event. Upon completion, top male and female finishers in each distance will receive prizes, along with regional product awards for first-place winners across various categories. Only those present at the award ceremony on race day are eligible for recognition. This night run serves as the inaugural competition of our annual Night Challenge series, setting the stage for future events like the 22nd edition of La Mosnacotoise Trail du vignoble cognaçais scheduled for May 9th.
