Introduction to Open Water Swimming

Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Wyresdale Park on May 31, 2027, for an open water swimming session designed to introduce beginners and seasoned swimmers alike to the joys of this invigorating sport. The event takes place from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Snowhill Lane in Scorton, Preston PR3 1BA.
Upon arrival at Wyresdale Park’s picturesque car park opposite the café, you’ll be greeted by a qualified open water lifeguard who will guide you through essential safety and breathing techniques. The session includes practical tips on acclimatization and how to stay calm while swimming in open waters. Participants can explore the benefits of this unique aquatic environment for both physical health and mental well-being.
Swimmers are encouraged to bring their own wetsuits, swimwear, towels, goggles, and warm clothing suitable for post-swim comfort. Neoprene gloves and socks, as well as tow floats, will be provided if needed. The event organizer offers a variety of sizes in wetsuits for those who prefer not to use their personal gear.
The session promises an engaging group swim with the safety of fully qualified lifeguards on hand at all times. As you glide through the tranquil waters, take in the stunning natural scenery around Wyresdale Park and enjoy the camaraderie among fellow swimmers. For a memorable touch, each participant will receive a goody bag filled with mementos from the session.
Should adverse weather conditions force cancellation, participants will be offered either a full refund or an alternative date to ensure no one misses out on this enriching experience.
