HOWUM by Pegasus 2027

Embark on an unforgettable ultra-distance journey through the heart of mid-Wales with Pegasus Ultra Running's HOWUM (Heartlands of Wales Ultra Marathon). This iconic trail race, celebrating its 10th anniversary, offers runners breathtaking views and challenging terrain across the majestic hills of the Pumlumon Massif. Whether you're a seasoned ultramarathoner or new to long-distance running, this event welcomes all with an inclusive spirit.
The full HOWUM course spans an exhilarating 30 miles through diverse landscapes, from rolling green valleys to rugged mountain trails. For those seeking a more manageable yet equally rewarding experience, the half distance option provides stunning scenery and challenging terrain in just over half the mileage.
As part of Pegasus Ultra Running's ambitious PEGASUS SLAM challenge for 2027, completing six races across Wales—including HOWUM—qualifies participants to earn exclusive recognition and a prestigious finisher’s memento. The HALF SLAM offers an equally enticing option with a 90-mile cumulative distance from half-distance events.
Join the vibrant community of runners dedicated to exploring some of Britain's most picturesque trails while supporting local conservation efforts through sustainable practices. HowUM promises not just a race, but an immersive adventure in one of Wales' most captivating regions on May 1, 2027.
