Hill of a Race

On April 11, 2027, the slopes of Rabbit Hill Snow Resort transform into an exhilarating playground for runners and walkers at "Hill of a Race" (HOAR). This unique event offers three distinct distances to cater to various fitness levels: a challenging six-hour endurance course starting at 9:00 AM, a scenic ten-kilometer lap around the resort beginning at noon, and a shorter five-kilometer option that kicks off at 1 PM. Participants will navigate an approximate 2.5km circuit winding up and down ski runs, with traction aids like walking poles recommended for optimal performance.
The day promises to be filled with spirited competition and scenic views as racers tackle the slopes without any interference from skiers or snowboarders. Great aid stations along the course provide essential nourishment throughout the event, ensuring everyone stays fueled and hydrated during their climb up Rabbit Hill's challenging terrain.
All finishers will receive a handcrafted medal to commemorate their achievement, while participants can also purchase exclusive merchandise like unisex hoodies through Race Roster’s online store until August 15. Additionally, every racer is eligible for a voucher redeemable for one day of lift access at the resort during the upcoming ski season.
"Hill of a Race" not only offers an unforgettable athletic experience but also supports a worthy cause—proceeds from this event will benefit Olive Tree Projects, which runs a critical maternity center in Jacmel, Haiti. This charity was founded by Sarah Wallace who previously worked at Rabbit Hill Snow Resort during her student years and continues to make a significant impact on global health initiatives.
Registration is exclusively online through the Race Roster platform, so interested runners are encouraged to secure their spots early for this one-of-a-kind event in Edmonton's vibrant running calendar.
