Happy Trails Snackathon

On March 13, 2027, Lone Peak Park in Sandy, Utah will transform into a whimsical racecourse for the Happy Trails Snackathon. This unique event invites runners and walkers to complete either a 5k or 10k loop around the picturesque park while tackling an unexpected challenge: consuming delicious snacks at each lap's end.
Participants can expect locally made finisher medals, high-quality race shirts showcasing their snacking prowess, and free photos captured by Xotio Media. The course features well-stocked snack stations where runners must eat predetermined treats before continuing to the next loop. Snacks include favorites like Oatmeal Creme Pies, Nutty Buddy bars, Cosmic Brownies, Zebra Cake, Star Crunch, Twinkies, Fudge Round Cupcakes, and Donettes.
The race starts at 9:00 AM for the 10k distance and 9:02 AM for the 5k. Early registration is available until December 1st with discounts on offer. Race day packet pickup begins at 7:30 AM. Parking is free, though limited to about 200 spaces across multiple lots.
Prizes include custom medals for all finishers and special awards like a Golden Twinkie or silver Oatmeal Creme Pie for top male and female runners in each category. The Snackathon promises an entertaining atmosphere with plenty of cheering spectators and ample room for participants to enjoy the park's scenic trails while indulging in sweet treats.
