Gut Buster

The GUT BUSTER, an annual tradition that marks the end of year racing season with its unique blend of challenges and camaraderie. This mud-soaked adventure through Northern England's countryside is renowned for pushing runners to their limits over a 10K or 10-mile course.
As you set out on this grueling route, prepare yourself for water crossings that will test your endurance in the cold winter air, Roman Walls standing tall as silent witnesses to history and present-day trials alike. The varied terrain includes lush fields and winding footpaths, offering a mix of scenic beauty and physical demands. A particular highlight is the notoriously tough final 400 meters, which can vary depending on local farming practices.
The GUT BUSTER has earned its reputation through memorable editions in recent years—2017 and 2022 stand out for their epic conditions, making them a topic of conversation among runners. After crossing the finish line, enjoy complimentary mulled wine and mince pies to warm up and celebrate your achievement with fellow competitors.
Registration includes more than just entry into this thrilling event; you'll receive an impressive medal commemorating your accomplishment along with personalized iTAB featuring both your name and finishing time sent directly to you after the race. Free race photos captured during the day will also be available for download, capturing memorable moments from the course. Chip timing ensures accurate results while ample toilets are provided throughout.
