Guanting Lake Marathon 2026 (2026官厅湖马拉松)

The 2026 Guanting Lake Marathon, an A-class race sanctioned by the Chinese Athletics Association, promises to be a breathtaking journey through one of China's most picturesque landscapes. Set for September 13th at 7:30 AM in Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, this event will take place within the Guanting Lake National Wetland Park, known as one of the largest wetlands in North China.
With a total race capacity of 6000 participants, runners can choose between two distances: 2000 spots for the full marathon (42.195 kilometers) and 4000 slots for the half marathon (21.0975 kilometers). Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis until all spaces are filled.
The race takes place during one of Guanting Lake's most enchanting seasons, offering runners an unparalleled blend of natural beauty and cultural charm. The scenic route winds through lush greenery and vibrant autumn foliage, with the lake’s serene waters reflecting the stunning fall hues. Alongside this picturesque trail lies a sprawling vineyard landscape teeming with ripe grapes, their sweet fragrance filling the air as you run.

Guanting Lake is conveniently located near Beijing Yanqing District, offering easy access for runners from all over China. To ensure participants' safety and readiness, race organizers require proof of completion for either half or full marathons within the last two years (online races are not accepted). Additionally, all runners must submit a medical examination report from an authorized healthcare facility at least one month before the event. This includes vital checks such as blood pressure readings and electrocardiograms.
