FOUNTAINS ABBEY WILD TRAIL RUNS

Fountains Abbey Wild Trail Runs 2027 invites runners to explore the stunning landscapes surrounding one of England's most iconic historical sites, Fountains Abbey. Located near Ripon in North Yorkshire, this World Heritage Site offers an enchanting backdrop for trail enthusiasts with its rich history dating back over eight centuries.
Scheduled for Sunday, February 28th, 2027, the event features a range of distances to suit various skill levels and interests: a scenic 5km run designed for young participants aged 11 and up; a more challenging 10km route open to runners aged 15 years or older; and an exhilarating half marathon trail race for those aged 17+. Each course weaves through the picturesque Deer Park, alongside tranquil water gardens, and past the ancient ruins of Fountains Abbey itself.
Families with dogs are welcome as this event is Canicross-friendly. Participants can bring one well-behaved canine companion on a leash throughout their run. Parking at the venue costs £4 per vehicle and can be reserved during registration for convenience.
Competitors will experience live chip-timing provided by Timing Up North, ensuring fast and accurate race results. All finishers are rewarded with bespoke event medals and exclusive Wild Deer merchandise to commemorate their achievement. Refreshments including snacks and drinks await runners at the conclusion of each distance, along with the option to purchase a custom-designed T-shirt for £14.
