Flint Hills 50 and Marathon

On April 10, 2027, runners will converge upon the scenic Flint Hills just outside Manhattan, Kansas for an unforgettable race experience. Participants can choose between two challenging courses: a marathon and a grueling 50-mile ultramarathon.
The marathon course winds through mostly dirt roads with stunning views of the rolling hills, offering one continuous loop of 26.2 miles complete with four aid stations to keep runners fueled and hydrated throughout their journey. Meanwhile, the 50 miler features two loops each covering 25 miles with five aid stations per lap, providing ample opportunities for rest and refueling.
Both races will start in Green Valley Community Center at different times: the ultramarathon begins at 7 am followed by the marathon starting promptly at 7:30 am. The race is known for its significant elevation changes of over 2,000 feet per loop, making it a true test of endurance and determination.
Race packets can be picked up on April 9th from 4 to 7 pm at Manhattan Running Company or on the morning of the event starting at 6 am near the start/finish line. Following the race, all finishers will receive a unique belt buckle featuring the race logo while top performers earn hand-painted rocks as additional accolades.
Join this inaugural ultramarathon and trail marathon to support local schools while immersing yourself in one of Kansas's most picturesque landscapes.
