Falsterbo Backyard Ultra WINTER 2027

Welcome to the 5th edition of Falsterbo Backyard, Sweden's southernmost ultra-run! This unique endurance challenge pushes both body and mind with its distinctive format where runners compete against time, terrain, and themselves. The race consists of a loop course measuring 6.7 kilometers that participants run every hour for up to twelve hours, testing their physical and mental limits.
The Falsterbo Backyard Ultra is more than just a competition; it's an event steeped in community spirit where runners come together to share the experience of pushing their boundaries on one of Sweden’s scenic coastal trails. The loop course offers varied terrain that transitions between forest paths, sandy beach sections, and open fields, providing both breathtaking views and challenging obstacles.
The race begins at 09:00 AM sharp on February 6, 2027, from Strandbadsvägen 30 in Falsterbo. Runners can pick up their bibs starting at 07:30 AM on the day of the event, and a briefing will be held at 08:45 AM to ensure everyone is prepared for what lies ahead.
Participants are treated to complimentary snacks including fruit, cookies, chips, candy, as well as free sports drinks, coffee, and water. The race organizers recommend bringing your own energy supplies to keep fueled throughout the day.
The course rules require runners to complete each loop within an hour; those unable to return in time will not start a new lap and are considered finished at that point. A headlamp is mandatory for runners who continue into darker hours. Runners compete individually, with medals awarded to all participants.
Facilities include a large heated tent where runners can rest between loops on their own chairs. There are also six toilets available—three for men and three for women—and free parking right next to the start/finish area at Falsterbo Strandbads Parkering.
In addition to the medal, top finishers will receive exciting prizes from sponsors and other generous donations. The event is a celebration of perseverance and camaraderie among runners who brave the elements in pursuit of their personal bests on this challenging yet rewarding course.
