The Ekiden of Nantes is an engaging marathon relay race welcoming teams from businesses, students, licensed runners, and the general public to compete together on October 4, 2026. Each team covers the official marathon distance (42.195 km) in a unique format: starting with a 5 km leg followed by two consecutive 10 km segments, then another 5 km stretch before concluding with a final run of 7.195 km.
This event is known for its festive and supportive atmosphere as it gathers hundreds of participants annually to celebrate the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie in an energetic setting. The Ekiden of Nantes also serves as a qualifying race for the French Ekiden Championships, featuring an officially measured course that encourages top performance among competitors.
