Durham 5 in 5 Days - Day 2

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty and rich history of Durham with our Dun Holm 5 in 5 Days Challenge, presented on Friday, May 28th, 2027. This second day of the series is a unique opportunity to explore one of England's most picturesque cities while challenging your endurance.
The event takes place at the historic Durham Amateur Rowing Club, located along Green Lane in Old Elvet (DH1 3JU). The course winds through a stunning stretch by the River Wear, offering breathtaking views of Durham Cathedral and its surrounding landscapes. This trail run is fully marked to guide participants without requiring any navigation skills.
For those seeking flexibility, this event offers a time challenge format with a duration limit of seven hours. Participants can choose their own distance starting from a minimum of 3 kilometers or opt for the full lap at approximately 4.37 miles (or potentially adjusted based on conditions). The course is designed to accommodate runners and walkers alike, ensuring all abilities are welcome.
Durham’s vibrant atmosphere will be enhanced by several perks: members receive an exclusive discount, earning them a £10 reduction in entry fees along with guaranteed entry and mini-medal pins for each event attended. Additionally, affiliated UK Athletics club members can enjoy a further £2 off their registration cost.
A variety of awards await those who complete at least 3 kilometers, including themed medals that reflect the city’s heritage. For runners aiming higher achievements like half-marathons or beyond (up to ultra distances), special pins are available for collection upon completion, commemorating milestones such as marathons and significant personal challenges.

Race day instructions will arrive via email in advance, ensuring participants are well-prepared. Number pick-up is available on-site before the race begins at 9:30 AM sharp.
Facilities such as toilets and changing areas are provided at the venue, along with a bag drop area near the start/finish line (though it’s unattended). Parking options include pay-and-display spaces in Durham city center or surrounding streets; please avoid using the rowing club's parking lot for event participants.
