DexShell Cateran Dirt Dash

Immerse yourself in two days of breathtaking landscapes as you pedal through Scotland’s Cairngorms National Park during the DexShell Cateran Dirt Dash bikepacking adventure. This gravel-packed journey is an ideal introduction to the rugged beauty and charm of Scottish ecomuseum territory, offering a unique blend of singletrack trails, forestry roads, and public paths.
The event kicks off with 47 kilometers on Day One, featuring approximately 1,080 meters of climbing through unmarked terrain that may require occasional pushing. The second day brings another 39 kilometers with around 610 meters of ascent. You’ll navigate these routes using a GPX file provided ahead of time for electronic briefing and self-guided exploration.
Camping is included at the designated site, complete with evening meals, breakfasts, snacks, and access to basic amenities like toilets and drinking water. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available upon request. The campsite also features a nearby café but no other facilities such as shops or supermarkets, so be sure to pack accordingly.
Your entry fee covers essential items for navigation and safety: route maps, electronic rider briefing, overnight camping with meals, and snacks. Participants must bring their own helmets, lights, water supplies, emergency gear, tools, and repair kits. E-bikes are welcome but need pre-approval during registration.
Travel to Alyth by train from Dunkeld & Birnam (20 miles away) or via electric bus services that connect Edinburgh/Glasgow with Blairgowrie. Detailed GPX files will guide you from these transport hubs to the start line, ensuring a smooth arrival and departure experience.
