CARNEGIE HARRIERS Devilla Forest 15 and 5 2027 - Kincardine, Fife

On February 14, 2027, Carnegie Harriers invites trail runners of all levels to the scenic Devilla Forest for their annual 15k and 5k races. Both events start within minutes of each other at Tulliallan Castle in Kincardine, Scotland, with the longer race kicking off at 11:00 am.
The improved routes introduced last year will be used again this time around. These trails offer a mix of forest roads and smaller tracks through Devilla Forest, ensuring better underfoot conditions for runners compared to previous years. The terrain varies from relatively flat sections to more challenging areas that may become muddy after rain, making trail shoes essential.
The 15k route winds past historic landmarks like Tulliallan Castle before delving into the forest's diverse landscapes — sheltered woodlands and open grounds along rivers and lochs. Runners will encounter scenic spots such as Peppermill Dam and Keir Burn, passing through a notorious bog area near the halfway mark at 7k.
The shorter 5k race takes runners on an out-and-back course that begins in the forest's northern reaches before looping back towards Tulliallan Castle. This route offers less variation but still showcases some of Devilla Forest’s natural beauty with views of Moor Loch and dense woodland areas.
Both races are marshaled along their entirety, ensuring clear directions at junctions despite potential changes due to weather or forestry operations within the working forest. Participants will find ample parking on-site and access to changing facilities in the Recreation Hall upon arrival.
Post-race refreshments await all finishers at the Copper Lounge inside the Recreation Block from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, offering hot drinks and snacks for recovery. All competitors receive a bespoke medal, with additional prizes available across various age categories.
